Our practice takes us to all regions of British Columbia, is community based achieving high sustainability goals and specializing in mass timber where appropriate. Our inhouse expertise is broad from planning, transportation, healthcare, commercial, office space, residential, mixed-use development, and heritage projects – a skill set that helps our residential clients to think strategically, and remind our institutional clients to consider the human experience. We employ a staff of between 10 – 20 highly trained professionals and technologist who specialize in complex projects that encourage stakeholders engagement to achieve outstanding results.

Our storefront office is located in the Historic Chinatown District of Downtown Victoria BC. Victoria is a thriving, growing community that provides a great climate, a vibrant downtown, outdoor activities, family friendly housing, and is compact. Most of our staff bicycles to work every day.
We strive to get our work done during normal hours with the belief that leading balanced lives leads to a better work environment and to better designs. Our office operates in a hybrid work environment that offers full-time employees the option to work from home 2 days a week.
DESCRIPTION:
We are looking to add an Architectural Technologist to our team immediately. The candidate will provide leadership and support in assessing and implementing the sustainability goals for current and future projects. The candidate will work across our studio’s diverse portfolio of work and collaborate with team members and clients. The candidate will have at least 5 years experience in delivering Sustainable projects across the province, including those designed to LEED, Passivehouse, Zero-Carbon, Net-Zero, BC Energy Step code 4 and higher, and Living Building Challenge standards. The successful candidate will crave the exploration of new ideas, embrace hard work, and be excited by the challenges of the profession and our studio’s desire to make all projects Net-Zero by 2030. We are looking for a team player that can also work independently. The position offers significant growth and leadership opportunities.
Skills should include:
- Experience with Building Information Modelling workflow, utilizing Revit
- Ability to utilize 3d modelling and visualizations to create compelling design concepts. Experience with Lumion is a plus.
- Strong design and analytical skills.
- Experience with the British Columbia Building Code, part 3 buildings.
- Experience with designs utilizing off-site construction methods.
- LEED, WELL, Passive House or other certifications a plus.
- AIBC licensure, or commitment to getting licensed.
- Experience utilizing energy modelling and carbon analysis to optimize designs.
